Reading and walking.
2. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A priest since I was four; with periodic temptations to be the next Stan Musial.
3. When you have time for leisurely reading, what type of books do you most enjoy?
I enjoy American history, especially presidential biography (I’m almost finished with Brookhiser’s Madison and Newton’s Eisenhower). Church history I enjoy very much, as well as biographies of baseball heroes (just finished the recent Musial.) Then again, between us, I like “action” pulp occasionally – give me a good Jack Reacher (Lee Childs) thriller any day.
4. What book has most influenced your spiritual life?
